We wish speedy recovery to Israeli Prime Minister Mr. Ariel Sharon who underwent emergency surgery.
Mr. Sharon is a man of great political courage and a huge figure in world politics. He is a man of conviction and he fought the terrorists trying to keep Israel a secure democracy. The fact that he understood the need of Palestine to exist as a state and his firm resolve during unilateral disengagement from Gaza strip in the face of opposition within his own party shows the strength of character of the person. We hope his new party "Kadima" will serve to carry on his aspirations for the state of Israel and for the larger peace in the region.

Fundamental Rights
The Constitution offers all citizens, individually and collectively, some basic freedoms.
Fundamental Duties
By the 42nd Amendment of the Constitution, adopted in 1976, Fundamental Duties of the citizens have also been enumerated. Article 51 'A', contained in Part IV A of the Constitution deals with Fundamental Duties. These enjoin upon a citizen among other things, to abide by the Constitution, to cherish and follow noble ideals, which inspired India's struggle for freedom, to defend the country and render national service when called upon to do so, and to promote harmony and spirit of common brotherhood transcending religious, linguistic and regional or sectional diversities.
